While working at Brisbane’s then three-hatted restaurant Urbane, executive chef Alejandro Cancino was inspired to develop better quality plant-based meat alternatives when he discovered the food service options available were subpar.

Together with his partner in crime, Paola Moro, they established the parent company Fenn Foods to develop and explore cruelty-free products that were both kind to the planet and delicious to the palate.

After months of extensive research and development, Alejandro and his plant-fuelled team proudly launched the pioneering vEEF® Classic Burger Patties which hit the Woolworths shelves in 2019.

vEEF Chilled Range launches in Coles – hitting the shelves in August 2020.
With a new bold pack design, we proudly launched five new products onto the Coles shelves; Premium Beef Burger, Premium Chicken Burger, Crumbed Chicken Tenders, Meatballs with Tomato Sauce and the delicious Butter Chicken.

In a landmark move that will reshape the plant-based meat landscape in Australia, vEEF and Love BUDS announce their merger under a new entity, The Aussie Plant Based Co.
The strategic merger will establish an extensive distribution network, encompassing an impressive 6,000 distribution points across the country, along with a well-established manufacturing hub situated on the Sunshine Coast.

Our goal is bigger than just creating delicious plant-based food. We want to challenge people’s perception of protein and what plant-based food is all about. Ultimately, we want to set the standard in this growing industry, not just for taste but for sustainability. In 2018, we had our premium, plant-based vEEF® Mince product certified carbon neutral. In 2023, the whole company has been certified. We hope this will inspire other companies to set carbon-neutral goals and encourage consumers to demand more from the brands they buy.
