vEEF™ was developed not only to address a gap in the market but also to encourage, enable and educate our society as we move towards more conscious and sustainable ways of eating. Rooted in humble beginnings, this small Australian business with a big heart aims to revolutionise the way we look at protein one plant-based meal at a time.

2015

where it all begins

While working at Brisbane’s then three-hat restaurant Urbane, executive chef Alejandro Cancino was inspired to develop better quality plant-based meat alternatives when he discovered the food service options available were subpar.

2016

an idea was conceived

Together with his partner in crime, Paola Moro, they established the parent company Fenn Foods to develop and explore cruelty-free products that were both kind to the planet and delicious to the palate.

laying the foundations

The food-loving pair met several other creatives along the way who shared their passion for good food and were inspired to embark on this plant-based journey. This also marked the growth of the #OG vEEF™ family!

say hello to vEEF™

After months of extensive research and development, Alejandro and his plant-fuelled team proudly launched the pioneering vEEF™ Classic Burger Patties which hit the Woolworths shelves in 2019.

growing into new spaces

vEEF™ has been warmly welcomed and celebrated amongst the plant-based (and meat-lovers!) community for its innovative take on delicious meat-alternatives.

This also marked the year of sustainable achievements, where the team developed and launched the world’s first certified carbon neutral, plant-based mince.

Since then, production has grown so rapidly as to require a brand new 1000m² production facility to cope with demand.

vEEF™ has now grown to become one of Australia’s biggest, plant-based manufacturer, with a wide range available in both Retail and Food Service industries both locally and internationally.

WE WANT TO INSPIRE PEOPLE TO THINK DIFFERENTLY ABOUT PROTEIN...AND SAVE THE WORLD IN THE PROCESS

Our goal is bigger than just creating delicious plant-based food. We want to challenge people’s perception of protein and what plant-based food is all about. Ultimately, we want to set the standard in this growing industry, not just for taste but for sustainability. We have now launched our first certified carbon neutral product, vEEF™ Mince, and our next goal is to take the whole company carbon neutral. We hope this will inspire other companies to set carbon-neutral goals and encourage consumers to demand more from the brands they buy.
